On September 22, 2014 CGSR hosted 8 students from the Yale Jackson Institute for Global Affairs and their advisor Tom Graham. The students were here to learn about policy implications of the rapid advances being made in additive manufacturing. They met with laboratory technical experts and export control subject matter experts.
The student's capstone project is "…to develop, if feasible, a U.S. control regime to reduce the risks of the spread of additive manufacturing technology, while retaining its scientific, technological, and economic promise." The report is available here: U.S. National Strategy for Additive Manufacturing (LLNL-MI-666215).
